| Nifty Sites The Miniatures Page It constantly amazes me how many people don't know about this site despite it being absolutely huge. This is the place to get news on miniature games. Any miniature game, no joke. Dakka Dakka They're a cranky bunch over there but they dig up tons of GW rumors and if you ask for opinions or advice they'll give it honestly (sometimes brutally) and I really like them for that. Bolter and Chainsword Get yer Space Marine on! Unquestionably the best resource for space marine players on the net. GW honchos even roam around here. Druchii.net It's Dark Elf centric but it's also one of the best Warhammer Fantasy sites around. Great community here. Turn Signals on a Land Raider Funny ass web comic following the Land Raider crew of the Emperors Pointy Sticks Space Marine Chapter. Lost in Space 40K web comic that makes Ragnar cry, literally! Golden Throne I just started reading this web comic when they made a "Pimp" Marneus Calgar funny. So far pouring through the archive has been quite enjoyable. Stuff of Legends Ever wonder what models were produced in 1988? 1992? 1995? This site is chocked full of archived miniature goodness. Even cooler they update it with current even coverage! |
Game Manufacturers Games Workshop Makers of our wondrous Warhammer products. Producing crack for 25 years! Privateer Press Creators of Iron Kingdoms D20 and Warmachine. Watch out GW! Rackham They may be French but they make the sexiest minis on the block. Home of Confrontation. Dark Age Imagine a miniature game based on Brom....well they made it. Love the rules and minis but it's still a small operation making it easy to collect all their monthly releases. Crocodile Games The house that Chris Fitzpatrick built. Their game is Wargods an absolutely beautiful game that draws from mythology for its armies. One of the top 5 games I wish I was playing. Flames of War 15 mm World War II game. I've never played it but it's catching on like I've never seen a historical do before. Excelsior Entertainment Warzone and Chronopia got me into miniature gaming. Excelsior is now carrying the torch since Targets demise they seem to be doing a fairly respectable job of it too. Hassle Free Miniatures Home of Kev White one of my personal favorite sculptors. I've always loved that his people look more...real. Women have hips, men are all superheroes. Wonderful stuff. Reaper Miniatures These guys have made so many cool fantasy miniatures you can't help but love them. Thunderbolt Mountain Tom Meier has been doing minis for 30 years and the guy knows his stuff. He's putting out a range of 30mm fantasy that are absolutely beautiful. Magnificent Egos This fantasy mini company is a conglomeration of several prominent sculptors. They have a rapidly growing range that runs the full spectrum of jaw dropping to meh. Spyglass Miniatures Steve Buddle has mastered the lithe female. His models are some of the few that just look elegant. A tough thing to pull off in a 30mm model. Freebooter Miniatures Another of my favorites. (Who am I kidding? They're not on this list if I don't like them!) Seriously, Werner Klocke cranks out really cool minis. |
Painting & Modelling Cody's Coop In my opinion Cody is bar-none the best model painter out there today. He specializes in anime girls and mecha. If you're a painter or a modeller your doing yourself a disservice by not visiting. Of particular interest is his article on weathering mecha. Many of the techniques can be applied to your own vehicles Warning: There is some mature content on the site but it is clearly labelled and easily avoided. Paintrix Miniatures Multiple Slayer Sword winner Jennifer Haley's website. It's never updated which is a damn shame but the stuff that's on there is great. Verzani Productions Matt Verzani is multiple golden demon winner and awesome painter. His gallery is definitely worth a look though his "tutorials" links you to a webstore that hosts his stuff....frustrating. Miniature Painting.net Probably best known for their Visions in Putty and Visions in Color, sculpting and painting contest. The site has a good gallery and a bunch of interviews with sculptors and painters. Tincture Adept Talk about prolific painters to an amazing standard. Jarett Lee is constantly putting out top quality minis. Cool Mini Or Not One of the biggest painting resources on the net. Tons of articles and a gallery larger than any other. Beware the pop-ups though! Dr. Fausts Painting Clinic This site has been around as long as I can remember and it remains one of the best sites for painting tutorials on the web. Repent Turns out this page is home to some of the best conversions around. Neatest thing about it is they come with work-in-progress shots and a host of tutorials! Brush Thralls Warmachine's official unofficial painting site. These guys and gals are truly talented individuals. Articles are run from pinning and puttying your jacks, to painting, to making terrain. Jenova Project This site by Inge Jensen is really impressive. She's a master at getting really soft natural tones and blends on her minis. The Miniature Gallery Dirk Stiller's site with tons of galleries and tutorials. He paints lots of his models buy just using successive washes and glazes very interesting techniques. |
